Zeys Expresses His Interest to Return to Evos Legends for The Next MPL ID

Following a short break at the end of SEA Games 2023, Bjorn “Zeys” Ong has decided to surprise the community once again. He openly stated that he is willing to return to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitive scene as a head coach for his former squad, Evos Legends.

During a live streaming session last Wednesday, a viewer asked Zeys if he’s willing to return to his former team for another shot in the MPL ID. Zeys quickly responded that he’d love to if Evos asked him personally. He even stated that he will fill the head coach position for free.

The Indonesian MLBB community, who have been watching Zeys’ growth since early 2023, were taken aback by his remarks. Previously, Zeys left the Evos Legends in February after a string of disappointing performances in MPL ID Season 10. At that time, Zeys commented on Evos’ decision as an insult to himself and said he did not want to return to the team for any reason.

Following his dismissal, Zeys took the position of the main coach for the Indonesian MLBB national team, which was prepared ahead of the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia in May 2023. At first, the Indonesian MLBB community, who recognized Zeys’ achievements in the M1 and IESF 2022 tournaments in Bali, welcomed him positively. However, he made some choices that led to his team’s failure in the group stages and becoming the target of angry Indonesians on social media. Zeys later apologized and briefly limited his social media activity.

After the SEA Games, Zeys has not taken offers from professional teams and has instead focused more on his YouTube channel. Considering his achievements, however, it’s only a matter of time before he finds a team that really grabs his attention. Teams like Dewa United and Bigetron Esports, which are showing their improvement in the current MPL ID Season 12, could be the next big destination for the Singaporean.
