MPL ID Season 12 Week 7: Onic Esports Clinches Upper Bracket, Evos Legends Still Stuck in Bottom Two

The seventh week of Mobile Legends: Pro League Indonesia Season 12 has ended as an important week for Onic Esports, who sealed an upper bracket finish for the upcoming playoffs, which will take place next month at the Britama Arena in North Jakarta, Indonesia.

Onic Esports is presently in first place after sweeping both Aura Fire and Rebellion Zion, bringing their record to 11 victories from 14 matches. Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol was once again instrumental in disrupting the Aura Fire’s tactics, while captain Muhammad “Butts” Satrya proved his capability as a carry killer against RBL.

The SEA ruler continues their positive trend of reaching the upper bracket playoffs since MPL ID Season 8 in 2021. And if they are able to maintain their current strategy, there is a good chance that they will create history as the first team to win the MPL ID three times in a row.

Meanwhile, Team RRQ, which is in second place in the standings, is still maintaining its positive trend after defeating Bigetron Alpha and their rival, Evos Legends. Although they are one point short of Onic, racking up 10 wins from 14 matches, they still have a big chance of securing an upper bracket slot, especially with their current form.

Aside from Onic and RRQ, the other teams will definitely be taking a big risk in week 8, since the gap in points isn’t too big and each team could knock the team below them out of their spot. Geek Fam and RBL, who showed improvements after the league’s two week break, have overturned Bigetron Alpha and Evos from their third and fourth positions, respectively.

However, Bigetron and the newcomer, Dewa United, still have the opportunity to win the upper bracket slot in the remaining matches. And finally, they still need to watch out for Alter Ego, who is in seventh place and has a reputation for creating some surprises in crucial games.

The two teams in last place, Aura Fire and Evos Legends, are now on the verge of losing out and need to do something big to overturn their losing streak. The latter won a big game against Aura Fire on Sunday thanks to an amazing showing by Arthur “Sutsujin” Sunarkho, but it’s not enough as the team is still in 8th place with only 5 wins out of 13 games.

They will face an uphill struggle in their attempt to make the playoffs, with Bigetron Alpha and Onic Esports waiting in the final days of week 8. The team is now under tremendous pressure from their hardcore supporters, who have expressed their disappointment with the way Evos management handled the locker room situation.
