In an exhilarating display of esports prowess, the 5th MLBB World Championship (M5) held in Manila, Philippines has shattered records, cementing Moonton’s status as a trailblazer in the gaming arena. The tournament, which unfolded last week, not only surpassed the previous M4 viewership peak in Jakarta but also clinched the title of one of the most-watched esports events of 2023.

According to the latest figures from Esports Charts, M5 2023 achieved a staggering peak viewership of 5,067,107. The climax of this spectacle occurred during the fiery grand finals clash between AP Bren and Onic Esports on the electrifying Sunday of December 17. Furthermore, home crowd favorite Blacklist International contributed significantly to the soaring viewership numbers when the team faced Onic Esports and Geek Fam during the knockout stage.

Moonton’s unparalleled success in consistently smashing viewership records during their M-Series tournaments continues to captivate audiences worldwide. M5 has now officially eclipsed the viewership of its predecessor, M4, held in Jakarta last January, where the competition peaked at 4,270,270 viewers.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. Moonton has ascended to the upper echelons of esports tournaments in 2023, with M5 ranking as the second most-watched esports event globally. It outpaced heavyweight tournaments such as CSGO Blast.tv Paris Major 2023 and Valorant Champions 2023 in Los Angeles, falling short only to the League of Legends Worlds 2023, which boasted an impressive 6,402,760 peak viewership.

Moonton’s triumphs extend beyond M5, with remarkable peak viewership achieved in other marquee events this year, including the MSC 2023 tournament in Cambodia and MLBB Pro League Indonesia S12 in Jakarta. The latter not only broke new ground in international mobile gaming competitiveness but also amassed a staggering 114 million watch hours in less than three months.

As Moonton consistently delivers top-tier entertainment in these major competitions, the question that lingers is: What groundbreaking strategies will they unveil to further captivate audiences in the upcoming season? Surely we can’t wait to see what kind of surprise that Moonton has in store for 2024.
