Honkai Star Rail Build Guide — Blade

With HoYoVerse very recently rolling out Honkai Star Rail’s Version 1.2 update (just last week, in fact) comes, as well, the shiny new banner for the mysterious swordsman: Blade.

As the game’s newest DPS, who also happens to specialise in AoE, Blade brings to the table a fresher take on damage-dealing character builds since his damage scales primarily on HP (and its depletion) rather than simply the traditional ATK stat.

This interesting kit composition is not the most straightforward so here’s a quick and easy guide on how you can start building your Blade:

Light Cone

With a new limited 5-star character inevitably comes a limited 5-star Light Cone that’s made just for them–and Blade is no exception. The Unreachable Side not only increases both Blade’s CRIT Rate and Max HP by a set percentage but also increases his DMG for a single attack after he’s attacked or consumes his own HP.

Some solid alternatives to his signature Light Cone include:

  • A Secret Vow

Although only of a 4-star rarity, this weapon serves as a solid option for Blade as it increases DMG dealt by a set percentage. If the targeted enemies have a HP percentage equal to or higher than Blade’s, though, the extra DMG dealt is doubled.

  • Something Irreplaceable

A 5-star Light Cone that’s attainable through the Standard Warp Banner, this weapon will increase Blade’s ATK by a set percentage. When he defeats an enemy or is hit, not only will he instantly restore HP equal to a small percentage of his ATK, Blade will also have his DMG boosted even higher until the end of his next turn.

Though the perks are quite generic, the mild healing is pretty nice in terms of keeping him alive in combat and extra DMG is always good for any DPS character!

  • On the Fall of an Aeon

Another 5-star alternative, this one is much easier to obtain since it’s available in Herta’s Store. This weapon increases Blade’s ATK by a small percentage every time he attacks (this effect stacks up to 4 times). Whenever he inflicts Weakness Break on enemies, his DMG is boosted by a set percentage for 2 turns.

Relics

  • 4-piece Longevous Disciple

One of the new Relic Sets introduced in Version 1.2, this is the ideal choice for Blade as it increases his Max HP (2-piece) as well as boosts his CRIT Rate (for 2 turns and up to 2 stacks) when he gets hit or his HP is consumed by an ally or himself (4-piece).

  • 2-piece Longevous Disciple + 2-piece Eagle of Twilight Line

This set combo is a decent choice for overall damage-dealing since it increases his Max HP (Longevous Disciple) and increases his Wind DMG (Eagle of Twilight Line).

Inert Salsotto can be acquired from World 6 of Herta’s Simulated Universe

As for Planar Ornament sets, Inert Salsotto is a good choice for its 8% CRIT Rate boost as well as 15% Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG buff if he has a CRIT Rate of 50% or more.

Rutilant Arena can be acquired from World 7 of Herta’s Simulated Universe

Another option is Rutilant Arena as it increases his CRIT Rate by 12% and also boosts his Normal and Skill DMG by 20% if his CRIT Rate is 70% or more.

Blade is no doubt an interesting character not only for his mysterious past but also his unique kit. Like all characters, though, there are many ways to build Blade to your liking so we hope this quick and easy guide can help you get started with that!
