The global Dota 2 scene is currently ablaze with the ongoing massive roster shuffle, leaving no team untouched. Not even the revered Talon Esports, the Southeast Asia’s new sensation which finds itself amidst a sweeping transformation, bidding farewell to its entire roster.

In a surprising turn of event, the SEA’s organization, announced through X, the dissolution of their revered Dota 2 lineup, comprising the likes of Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, Rafli “Mikoto” Rahman, Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong, Worawit “Q” Mekchai, and Chan “Oli” Chon Kien, following a series of strategic discussions within the management.

“After discussions with the team, we have come to the agreement to mutually part ways to allow other opportunities to be explored,” wrote the team. “We would like to thank everyone for their contribution to this era of Talon Dota, and wish them the best in their next chapter.”

This formidable lineup had propelled Talon Esports to unprecedented heights in the competitive circuit, manifesting exceptional performances at prestigious esports tournaments like the Riyadh Masters 2023 and the Lima Major 2023, where they clinched remarkable Top 3 finishes.

Their tactical prowess and exceptional teamwork had set a benchmark for teams across SEA, positioning the region in a competitive stance that rivaled even the most established teams from the European scene. Undoubtedly, the remarkable plays from Talon’s stars such as 23savage and Mikoto are poised to inspire a new wave of aspiring players to make their mark in the cutthroat world of Dota 2.

Currently, there are no specific details regarding the future moves of each player in the upcoming competitions. However, it remains intriguing to observe whether these players will opt to remain within SEA region or bring their talents elsewhere. In 2022, 23 himself disclosed that the Western European behemoth, Team OG, had approached him to join as their carry after TI10.

Additionally, Oli had experienced notable success during his tenure with Invictus Gaming from 2018 to 2022, bagging victories at DOTA Summit 11 and ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021, thus hinting at a possible return to the Chinese competitive scene.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian rising star, Mikoto, has already declared his decision to take a hiatus from Dota 2 competition until early next year. Given his impressive growth as one of the top players in SEA, it is highly plausible that top teams will soon come knocking, vying for his expertise and skills.
