So, you won’t believe the drama going on since Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera bounced from Evos Legends. His former teammates are all in a twist after word got out that this Filipino player left the squad on not-so-great terms. And guess what? The jungler, Darrel “Tazz” Wijaya, just poured some gasoline on the fire with juicy details about Dlar’s behavior during his Evos days.
Back in September 2023, Dlar caused a stir in the MLBB Indonesia scene, spilling the tea that he ditched Evos because they weren’t treating him right. He even threw shade at coach Steven “Age” Gunawan, saying Age deliberately ignored him. The latter then denied the claim, explaining that his team didn’t pick Dlar because his stats were lower than the other Evos players.
Things cooled down a bit when Refie “Oner” Fakhreno, Evos’ head of esports, brought up some miscommunication, but they didn’t dive deep into the details. However, it looks like the MLBB communities in Indonesia and the Philippines are on the verge of some spicy drama in the opening week of new year, especially after Tazz just brought up matters from his time playing alongside Dlar in Indonesia.
On a podcast with MLBB guru Jonathan “Emperor” Liandi, Tazz spilled the beans about being tight with Dlar. This unprecedented disclosure granted him a front-row seat to observe his teammate’s conduct, especially when Dlar got dropped as an unused substitution.
What Tazz uncovered left him utterly flabbergasted – instead of focusing on self-improvement and honing his skills, Dlar was caught red-handed indulging in Steam games. Tazz recalled that he asked Dlar to “step up your game. Work twice as hard, man. Learn something like Bahasa Indonesia, ’cause your communication skills need a major upgrade.”
Tazz also thinks Dlar is way too comfy in his zone, worrying he won’t change anytime soon. He claimed that Dlar apparently never bothered improving his in-game rank, even when they were hustling as a team.
“I feel like Dlar is just coasting. He’s good with Uranus ’cause that hero doesn’t need much communication. But what about heroes like Terizla? How’s he gonna communicate with us?” Tazz wondered. “Is Dlar being too comfort? Probably. He never plays ranked. I haven’t checked his rank lately, but I am sure he’s not Immortal yet. He said he is going to join a new team next season, but hasn’t played ranked yet. He’s totally in his comfort zone!”
At the time of this writing, Dlar has neither confirmed nor addressed Tazz’s remarks regarding his behavior. Tazz, in turn, expressed his desire to witness Dlar’s return to Indonesia as a player, challenging him to prove him wrong.
“If he believes he’s still capable of playing in Indonesia, then go for it—try to outperform all of us. I really want to see him do it. If that happens, we’ll accept that Evos was wrong about him.”
