Onic Esports Breezes Through Bigetron Alpha to Win the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3

The Onic Esports domination in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang continues as they seized the victory in the grand final of the ESL Snapdragon Mobile Pro Series Season 3 last night at Istora Senayan, Jakarta. Despite the hype around their opponents, Onic managed to beat Bigetron Alpha in a landslide victory.

The all-Indonesian final that sold out last night was surprising, given that Bigetron Alpha was not the favorite. However, the Red Robot squad, which went through a massive lineup change this season, showed incredible tenacity. Bigetron had the Filipino teams in their grip, thanks to the guidance of veteran Calvyn ‘Vyn’. They advanced to the grand final by respectively defeating RSG Philippines, Echo Philippines, and AP Bren.

This impressive winning streak, however, came to an end when they faced Onic Esports, who were clearly above their level and determined to add another international trophy this season. The Yellow Hedgehog army showed no mercy and swiftly defeated Bigetron in the best of seven battle.

Onic won without any resistance in the first two rounds. They were 2-0 ahead after 30 minutes with a total of 24 kills, the majority of which were earned by their ace Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol. Aside from that, Gilang “Sanz,” who had been missing from the tournament since the middle of the month owing to a fever, performed admirably once more.

Bigetron almost managed to derail Onic’s momentum in the third round with an aggressive draft pick consisting of the trio Valentina, Lancelot, and Franco. Although this lineup was struggling to keep up with Onic in the early game, the team’s fortunes shifted in the 10th minute when Kenneth “Kenn” Marcelo’s Lancelot game helped Bigetron secured its first Lord.

Bigetron took advantage of their situation and pushed all the way to the Onic’s base. Kenn and Vyn duo cut off the maneuvers of the Onic players multiple times, who were on their back in the late game. Onic’s Nicky “Kiboy” Fernando, however, managed to keep Bigetron from destroying the crystal, giving his teammates enough time to recover.

Onic’s patience paid off when Vyn made a mistake at 19.34 minutes, allowing them to push Bigetron back. With no tanker available to slow them down, Sanz and Kairi dispatched the Bigetron players who were protecting their own base. At the 20:41 mark, Onic turned things around with a 23-16 victory.

The stunning triumph seemed to have broken the morale of the Bigetron squad, which was working hard to catch up with them. Onic showed their supremacy once more in the fourth round, where they won the final round 15-4 in 12 minutes and 45 seconds.

This victory adds to the collection of international trophies won by Onic this season. Prior to this tournament, they had won the MSC 2023 tournament in Cambodia by defeating the world’s favorites, Blacklist International. They will take home a prize of $65,000 and, possibly, a ticket to the next Snapdragon Pro Series next year.
