NIP Flash & Team Falcons End MPL on a High Note, Secure MSC Berths

The MLBB Mid Season Cup 2024 competition circuit has finally taken shape with the conclusion of the MLBB Pro weekend in the Singapore and MENA regions. The season’s standout teams, Ninja in Pyjamas Flash and Team Falcons, have once again demonstrated their top games.

In MPL SG Season 7, NIP Flash’s victory echoed last season’s grand finale against RSG Singapore. This time, however, the match concluded with a decisive win for NIP Flash, who delivered a clean sheet victory led by veteran Yeo “Diablo” Wee Lun, leaving their opponents with no chance to bounce back.

This back-to-back triumph underscores the promising partnership between NIP and Flash, announced just before the MPL SG S7 took off. Their win earned them a prize of $36,200 SGD, securing their position as Singapore’s sole representatives at the upcoming tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, the final clash of MPL MENA Season 5 saw Team Falcons facing off against Twisted Minds. Mirroring the results in Singapore, the Saudi Green Falcons claimed a landslide triumph, dominating the match by 4-1. Despite Twisted Minds showing superior statistics throughout the regular season and playoffs and being the first favorites, they failed to predict Falcons’ counter strategy on the final day.

Twisted Minds had previously bested the Falcons twice, once during the regular season with a 1-2 scoreline and again in the upper bracket semi-finals. However, the Falcons showcased their iron mentality, fighting hard for their victory in the lower bracket stage, and eventually clawing their way to the grand finale to face Twisted Minds one last time.

And it was a huge moment for Falcons’ Filipino import Fabito “Goodnight” Jelo, who shone throughout the series. After falling short in the grand finales of the 2023 MPL MENA Fall Split and the 2023 MPL MENA Spring Split, he finally delivered, clinching his first MENA title with the Falcons.

Both Falcons and Twisted Minds will represent the host nation in the forthcoming MSC 2024. Now, only the results of the Wild Card competition remain to determine who will secure the final spot for the main event, set to kick off on July 3.
