MPL Indonesia Breaks Peak Viewership Record for Season 13

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League Indonesia Season 13 event, which concluded last Sunday, once again marked a fantastic achievement, further demonstrating the growing interest of esports fans in Indonesia from season to season.

According to Esports Charts, this premier MLBB esports league in Southeast Asia drew an impressive 2,225,961 peak viewers and amassed 110,269,012 watch hours. This figure closely mirrors last year’s MPL ID Season 12 statistics, which set a groundbreaking record as the first mobile esports event globally to exceed 100 million watch hours.

This season’s performance surpasses the record of MPL ID S12, which hit over 2,100,000 peak viewers and totaled 116,711,888 watch hours. Notably, there was a significant uptick in viewership for matches featuring Geek Fam and Alter Ego.

The grand finale featured a thrilling showdown between Fnatic Onic and Evos Glory, the season’s most-watched match. After over six months of struggles, The Blue Tiger roared back to prominence, securing a place in the prestigious Esports World Cup 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, next month.

This surge in viewership is a remarkable achievement for Indonesian esports, especially considering that six years ago, MPL ID garnered only 547,000 watch hours. The league’s popularity truly began to soar in season 11, drawing in new fans and culminating in the record-breaking watch hours of seasons 12 and 13.

Committed to surpassing even greater numbers next season, Moonton Indonesia has unveiled that the MPL ID Season 14 playoffs will be played in Bandung, West Java, marking the first MPL ID event held outside Jakarta in nearly three years. Back in 2021, MPL ID S8 in Bali received an overwhelmingly positive response and set outstanding peak viewership records for Indonesian esports at the time.
