Boom Esports CEO Hypes Khezcute and Bigetron as the Next Big Things in MLBB SEA

In a surprising move within the Indonesian esports scene, Alfi “Khezcute” Nelphyana, former captain of Boom Esports’ Dota 2 team, has emerged as a focal point of discussion among the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang community. Reports indicate his agreement to step into the role of head coach for Bigetron Alpha in the imminent MLBB Pro League ID Season 13, drawing swift acclaim from his ex-boss Gary Ongko, who hails him as the next formidable force in Indonesian MLBB competitive.

Khezcute’s recent triumph in leading the underdog squad, Pajajaran Esports, to clinch victory in the fiercely contested MLBB Liga Esports Nusantara 2023 tournament has undoubtedly contributed to the buzz surrounding him. The team’s stellar performance saw them triumph over favorites like Onic Miracle, Borneo FC Esports, and Pendekar Esports. This achievement quickly captured the attention of several MPL ID teams, sparking speculation about their interest in recruiting the thirty-year-old coach.

Fueling the rumors, Bigetron‘s CEO, Edwin “Starlest” Chia, dropped a tantalizing hint on X social media, alluding to the acquisition of a coaching candidate with an illustrious track record as a national esports champion and former professional Dota 2 player—a clear nod to Khezcute.

The Indonesian MLBB community, along with professionals entrenched in the competitive scene, has welcomed this development with optimism. Gary, in particular, expressed his enthusiasm for Bigetron’s potential to emerge as the season’s dark horse with Khezcute at the helm.

Boom Esports’ CEO delivered a resounding vote of confidence in the coach’s ability to steer Bigetron Alpha to international competitions in 2024. Via an Instagram story, he boldly asserted, “If Alfi (Khezcute) is really joining you (Starlest), there is no way you don’t win M6.”

Khezcute stands as a trailblazer among former Dota 2 pro players transitioning to coaching roles in MLBB within Indonesia. Noteworthy counterparts Adi “Adi” Asyauri (Onic Esports) and Dolly “SaintDeLucaz” Van Pelo (Aura Fire) have also made similar career shifts, but Khezcute’s leadership prowess, honed during his tenure as Boom Esports’ Dota 2 captain, positions him as a standout figure poised to make waves in the upcoming season—an outlook echoed by Gary’s foresight.
