Next Dota 2 Patch to Drop This Week and It Will Be a Big One, Source Claims

A game changer adjustment is on the way

Valve is reportedly set to drop the Dota 2 patch that was promised in February after more than a month of delay. It is rumoured that Patch 7.33 will be released within the next two days, bringing some significant adjustments.

Previously, Valve had promised to distribute Dota 2 patch 7.33 alongside the new hero Muerta. On March 7th, however, they only released Muerta and a minor update labelled patch 7.32e, which only included adjustments to a few items and a minigame.

This decision was then criticised by professional players and pundits who had anticipated significant changes prior to the DPC Tour 2 competition. Nonetheless, Valve promised to distribute patch 7.33 by late April.

Valve has not yet provided an official date for the Dota 2 7.33 patch. Nonetheless, a number of social media users who obtained information about the new patch provided leaks on Twitter. One of them was Matthew “Cyborgmatt” Bailey, the Director of Operations for Team Secret.

Matt claimed that the patch 7.33 will be much larger than the usual gameplay patch. He estimated that the new patch will be released on April 20 in the late afternoon. This was recently affirmed by Team Spirit manager Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov, who added that several heroes that were frequently used in Dota 2 Pro Circuit Tour 1 and Tour 2 would be nerfed. He even disclosed that Team Spirit would establish a bootcamp in Berlin shortly after the release of patch 7.33.

Overall, it will be interesting to see how the teams competing in the Berlin Major adjust to these changes. When it finally arrived, they have only six days until the Berlin Major begins on April 26. It should be noted, though, that Valve may put the patch 7.33 on hold until the final of the Berlin Major, considering the potential backlash from professional teams and players.

Based on these leaks, there’s a possibility that 7.33 will finally give what the players want, especially the nerfs for several heroes that frequently dominate games, such as Death Prophet and Nature Prophet. In addition, there is also a chance that the patch will provide some tweak for popular items such as the Aghanim Sceptre and Bloodstone.

The DPC 2021-2022 Regional Finals are back on and so are our rankings!

After some consideration (and a bit of fan pushback), Valve has brought back the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-2022 Regional Finals! However, with the Omicron variant lingering, the DPC 2021-2022 season will look slightly different. These changes will trickle down into the lead up to The International 11 (TI11), but they’re happening nonetheless.

Quincy Crew in TI: “Anything can happen, it’s all about keeping our head down and working hard on ourselves,” says team player Ponlo

The International (TI) 11 is taking place in September 2022, about eight months from now. With a prize pool of approximately USD$45,000,000 and a good add of status to player names, it’s no wonder every team is scrambling to climb the ranks and qualify for the major tournament.
