Newcomer Kevin “xccurate” Susanto made headlines at the VCT Pacific Kickoff 2024, delivering a standout performance that propelled T1 to victory over Japanese contenders Zeta Division on the tournament’s second matchday.
Joining T1 this season alongside Ham “izu” Woo-joo and Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo, xccurate was a focal point of discussion in the Valorant SEA community prior to the event. His pedigree as the elder sibling of Jason “f0rsaken” Susanto, a rival in the competition, and his professional background as a former CSGO player for China’s Tyloo team, set high expectations among fans.
Anticipation was palpable, considering xccurate’s history in CSGO, with spectators eagerly awaiting his transition to Valorant. He didn’t disappoint. After a commanding victory against Bleed Esports, xccurate continued his streak by besting Zeta, a formidable force in Group A.
While T1 faced challenges containing Zeta’s aggressive gameplay in the initial match on Ascent, they regrouped for the rematch on Lotus, their preferred battleground. Xccurate’s mastery of the Operator proved pivotal, securing a resounding 13-4 victory for T1.
In the decisive third match on Sunset, xccurate showcased his prowess once more, dueling with teammate Ha “Sayaplayer” Jung-woo for dominance. Despite Zeta’s resilience, T1, led by xccurate, clinched victory with a final score of 13-7.
The 25-year-old’s stellar performance ignited praise across social media, with the Valorant community hailing the showdown between T1 and Zeta as the highlight of the night. VLR GG acknowledged xccurate’s ascent, ranking him sixth among top-performing players, closing in on the Paper Rex duo Ilya “something” Petrov and Khalish “d4v4i” Rusyaidee.
With T1 securing the first playoff spot at the VCT Pacific Kickoff 2024, their sights are set on the next big match. As the tournament progresses, T1’s offensive prowess remains key to their success, positioning them as strong contenders for a spot in Madrid.
