The official PUBG Mobile account has announced that they will be monitoring the results for the 2023 Pubg Mobile World Invitational (PMWI 2023) Allstars Vote events and recounting the votes due to fraud allegations.
As previously announced, 14 teams from 14 regions will be chosen through in-game voting between May 26 and 30, 2023, to compete in the PMWI Allstars Stage event on July 11, 2023. Only top six teams from the Allstars Stage will advance to the PMWI 2023 main event.
With only one slot available for each region, it’s not unusual to see tens to hundreds of thousand votes pouring into teams with massive fanbase, such as Persijavos and Bigetron Red Villain (Indonesia), Alpha7 (Brazil), and S2G Esports (Turkey). However, other teams with smaller fanbase were reportedly receiving a large number of votes quickly as well, which led players to suspect that there were fake voters among these teams.
As the in-game voting event reached its conclusion yesterday, their presumption appeared to have been validated when the PUBGM esports committee team declared that some of incoming votes were suspicious.
“We wanted to provide an update on the 2023 PMWI in-game vote event, as we have been monitoring an invalid vote count.” the officials said on Instagram. “To ensure the integrity of the final numbers, once voting has closed we will verify each vote and remove any invalid entries. This means the data displayed on the in-game voting page is not final and is subject to change.”
The PUBG Mobile esports team has yet to release final vote results. At the moment, players are pointing their fingers on teams from South America and MENA regions for the potential fraud.
The PMWI Allstars Stage will be held on July 11 to 13, 2023 and will be followed by the PMWI 2023 main event from July 14 to 16. The event will be conducted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with fantastic prize pool of $3,000,000 USD.
