RRQ’s Calvyn ‘Vyn’ Sets New Record for Most Assists in MPL ID History

New season, same ol’ Calvyn

Calvyn ‘Vyn’ of RRQ has set another impressive record in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitive history by scoring the highest number of assists in MPL ID, a record that extends to Southeast Asia. Though RRQ Hoshi succumbed to two consecutive defeats and sitting in second place in MPL Indonesia Season 11, Vyn’s recent performance against Alter Ego demonstrated that the ‘king of kings’ of MPL ID is not finished yet.

On Sunday, RRQ suffered a surprising defeat to Alter Ego with a score of 2-1. Alter Ego’s bold move of allowing RRQ to pick their signature heroes nearly paid off in game 1, as Muhammad “Udil” Ardiansyah’s Valentina and Eldin “Celiboi” Putra’s Hayabusa outsmarted the black and yellow squad. RRQ narrowly avoided defeat when Celiboy made an uncharacteristic error around the 17th minute.

In the second game, Alter Ego learned from their mistakes and secured a better draft with Fredrinn, Valentina, and Terizla. They got RRQ right where they wanted them to as Celiboy dominated the jungle buffs since the early game, and Alter Ego cruised to an equalizer.

RRQ attempted to kill the last game swiftly by drafting Karrie and Fredrin. Although Schevenko “Skylar” Tendean was playing aggressively, Alter Ego’s solid defense rendered RRQ’s formation ineffective. Skylar tried to backdoor twice, but Alter Ego was quick to notice. In the end, RRQ failed to capitalize on their individual’s brilliance and succumbed to another defeat as Alter Ego demolished them in the 19th minute.

Despite the setback against Alter Ego, Vyn made it into the spotlight with his outstanding individual achievements. In the game against Alter Ego, he recorded a large number of assists, adding up to his competitive record by 3066 – the most significant number of assists in MPL Indonesia and Southeast Asia so far.

Vyn’s incredible assists score will certainly continue to increase as MPL ID Season 11 is still ongoing until April 2023. Nonetheless, he and RRQ must work on new tactics and turn the tide in the coming weeks.
