MPL PH S13 Week 1: Early Leaders Emerge as Bren and Echo Go Undefeated

The first week of MLBB Pro League Philippines Season 13 has wrapped up with little surprise, as AP Bren and Echo, two top global MLBB teams, secured the first and second spots in the standings. Both teams had flawless performances, winning all their matches in the first two series.

In a display of sheer mastery, Bren initiated its Season 13 campaign on Friday (3/15) with a commanding 2-0 victory over Blacklist International. Despite Blacklist’s attempts to apply early pressure, Bren’s impeccable coordination and strategy left them futilely grasping for control at every juncture. Bren’s starboys Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano and Michael Angelo “KyleTzy” Sayson completely outsmarted Blacklist’s agents without breaking a sweat.

The momentum of Bren’s triumph persisted into their encounter with TNC Pro on matchday 2 (3/17), where it delivered a staggering blow, annihilating TNC with a jaw-dropping 10-0 rout in game 1, followed by another clinical display in game 2, securing yet another 2-0 triumph to solidify their top-ranking position.

Shortly after, Echo mirrored Bren’s clean run in its own matchups. The Purple Orca commenced their campaign on Saturday (3/16) with a decisive 2-0 victory over Onic Philippines, and maintained the winning streak by triumphing over Omega Esports the following day, albeit with a tougher fight, as Omega nearly turned the tables, particularly showcasing dominance in game 1.

Beyond the towering presence of Bren and Echo, Minana Evos and Onic PH claimed the third and fourth spots respectively, each securing a win and a loss in the opening week’s matches. Trailing closely behind are Blacklist International and RSG PH, both finishing with a similar record. The competition remains tightly contested, with minimal gaps differentiating the contenders.

Looking ahead, both Bren and Echo are poised to continue their relentless pursuit of victory in the upcoming matches. The formidable consistency of Bren’s lineup, unchanged since their triumph at M5 last year, instills fear in opponents, while Echo, undeterred by the departure of Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera, persists in its quest for excellence, showcasing an unwavering winning mentality. As the league progresses, anticipation builds for the battles yet to come, as challengers seek to halt the unstoppable forces of Bren and Echo.
