More Overseas Players to Come in MPL ID Season 12, Caster Claims

The stakes are higher for the upcoming twelfth season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League Indonesia, as many have anticipated significant interest from outside players, making the competition even more exciting. Several top pundits, including Frederick “Mirko” Loho, have predicted that a large number of imports will flock to MPL ID in the foreseeable future.

Through his Twitter account, Mirko teased that there will be two new imports for the upcoming MPL ID S12. Multiple MPL ID commentators had previously made the same claim, stating that Indonesian teams are seriously considering bringing in more players and coaches from outside Indonesia after MPL ID S11.

As of yet, neither Mirko nor any of the other MPL ID experts have revealed the countries of the two new imports. However, according to our unnamed source, there will be two players from the Philippines and Myanmar who are currently in contract negotiations.

In recent years, Filipino players have proven themselves as the solutions that Indonesian teams badly needed, as evidenced by the stats of Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol and Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy on the Onic and Geek Slate teams. Additionally, numerous top talents from MPL PH who have observed their compatriots in MPL ID have expressed interest in the Indonesian pro scene as well.

On the other hand, Myanmar showed in the M Series and MPL Myanmar that the country has numerous young talents who, according to Mirko, are gaining level. It is likely that Myanmar players may explore offers from MPL ID teams and go outside due to the unpredictability of the esports landscape in their conflict-ridden country.

MPL Indonesia Season 12 is expected to begin in August and will take place outside of Jakarta. However, there is currently friction between Moonton and the Board of Indonesian Esports (PBESI), who want to take over the league for the upcoming season and impose harsher regulations on imported players.
