Michael “Mobazane” Cosgun recently shared his opinions on the United States Mobile Legends team’s dismal performance in the International Esports Federation World Championship 2023 event in Romania. He believed that the squad will constantly struggle without him as their key player.
The USA national team joined group B, which included Indonesia, Kazakhstan, and Turkey. Despite being expected to move on to the playoffs with Indonesia, they were defeated by Kazakhstan by a score of 2-0. Given that the team was mostly made up of key players from the BloodThirstyKing team, which is the best team in the North America region at the moment, their failure against the newcomer was definitely an embarrassment. Although they eventually defeated Turkey, it was useless since Indonesia and Kazakhstan had already secured their places in the playoffs
This sparked a response from the NA regional MLBB audience, who watched the competition via a watch party on the Zane channel. Some spectators then questioned the USA team’s performance, which is seen to be on the decline, and Zane responded by pointing out that he was the secret to their strong performance in big matches.
“NA just keeps degrading or stagnant, and others just keep growing? I mean, NA just keeps having tournaments without me. You can’t even call it ‘ego’, you’d have brain damage to even think like that,” Zane said. “It’s true. NA never left the group stage without me! It’s not been done in the history of Mobile Legends.”
Zane also emphasized that he always assisted the team he played for during the M3 and M4 competitions, where they emerged as a surprise and gained notoriety as heavyweights killer, considering their track records against crowd favorites. He then predicted that the Philippine Sibol team, which comprised of AP Bren players, would beat the Indonesian team in the grand finals of IESF 2023, which was later proven correct.
Mobazane was one of the veteran players from the North American region who missed two major MLBB competitions this season due to technical problems. Additionally, he lost the opportunity to play in the 2023 MLBB Southeast Asia Cup competition in Cambodia in June because two players on his team had permit issues.
