Minana Evos has secured themselves as the fifth team to earn a slot towards the playoffs of MLBB Pro League Philippines S13 after closing the sixth week of the regular season with a crucial victory against Onic PH on Friday (4/26). This marks Evos’ return to the playoff berth since season 9 in 2022, when it competed under the name Evos Nexplay.
Led by the energetic Jan Dominic “Domeng”, ME successfully contained Onic’s key player, Grant “Kelra” Pillas, throughout Game 1 to prevent their opponent from gaining mid-game domination. Assisted by his senior, Jeniel “YellyHaze” Bata-anon, Domeng exploited every space and decisively took down Onic to secure a 16-4 victory in 14 minutes.
Game 2 witnessed an intriguing draft from ME, incorporating Grock to complement its Vexanna – Ruby duo. Both squads started strong early on, but in the mid-game, Minana EVOS asserted better control of the map, securing all important objectives and consistently keeping Onic on the defensive.
In a crucial moment, Onic’s King “K1NGKONG” Perez secured the third lord of the game, providing a momentary respite for his team. However, it proved too late as Domeng scored two crucial kills, leaving Onic outnumbered in defending its base from ME’s assault, ultimately securing victory around the 18-minute mark.
Despite a defeat against Echo the following day, the victory against Onic propelled ME into the playoffs, with two last matches against RSG PH and Omega Esports in the last week. Currently, ME holds fifth place with a total of 17 points.
With only Blacklist International and Omega Esports remaining to battle for the last playoff slot, we anticipate a challenging road ahead for the former, especially considering the final games against Echo and RSG PH.
