Evos Legends Demotes Saykots to MDL Team Due to His Cardiac Condition

Evos legends’ coach has shed a light on the recent news regarding their ace, Rizqi “Saykots” Iskandar, who has been demoted to their reserve team, Evos Icon, for the upcoming season. The team has decided to prevent him from overexerting himself, due to medical ailment that would preclude him from playing in major Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League tournament in the near future.

Saykots became the first case in the MPL in Indonesia, and in SEA, to be demoted from the first team due to health concerns. According to Evos Legends head coach Steven “Age” Andreas Gunawan, Saykots has been diagnosed with a minor heart problem, which he discovered after competing in big tournaments in recent months, including the 2023 MLBB SEA Games and MLBB Southeast Asia Cup last month in Cambodia.

Through social media, Age explained that it’s important for Saykots to stay relaxed and get enough rest if he doesn’t want to have difficulties with his cardiac condition. Aside from that, he did not deny that Saykots has an anxiety issue after being highlighted in the MPL ID and the SEA Games 2023. He believes that playing at Evos Icon is the best option for him to recover without leaving the competition completely, given that the MLBB Development League level is not as demanding and popular as MPL and MSC.

Saykots’ health is currently being discussed among the Indonesian MLBB community, which has been watching for developments in his health since MPL ID Season 11. They emphasised his sedentary lifestyle and strenuous training regimen, which had a significant influence on his health. Given the increased competitiveness this year, Indonesian and SEA esports organisations who field an MLBB division must pay attention to this issue.

Saykots has recently been one of the most talked-about young offlaners in the MLBB SEA competition. After quitting the Morph team in amateur level competition, he immediately rose to prominence and became a regular Evos player by the end of 2022. in the same time, he won the MLBB competition in the IESF 2022 tournament in Bali and was named Grand Finals MVP, where he defeated Philippines national MLBB team. However, he has also frequently been chastised for his ups and downs in the competition in last few months.
