League of Legends’ Aurelion Sol is Being Reworked and Fans Are Split

Also known as The Star Forger, the League of Legends champion, Aurelion Sol, is getting a complete rework – from a brand new ability kit to a revised look.

Here is a brief summary of its new abilities:

Name of AbilityButtonDescription
Cosmic Creator(Passive)Aurelion Sol’s damaging abilities break down enemies into stacks of Stardust, which permanently improves each of its abilities.
Breath of LightQAurelion Sol channels its dragon breath for a few seconds and damages the first enemy hit, together with casting reduced damage onto enemies within a close radius.
Astral FlightWAurelion Sol flies over terrain in a targeted direction, while being able to cast other abilities with increased damage.
SingularityEAurelion Sol summons a black hole which damages enemies while pulling them into the centre.
Falling StarRAurelion Sol crashes a star into the earth, damaging and stunning enemies.
Skies DescendRWith enough Stardust, Falling Star transforms into Skies Descend where Aurelion Sol crashes a star into the earth with an increased impact zone and damage, knocking up enemies. A shockwave also then spreads from the impact zone, damaging and slowing the enemies hit.

Fans who have seen the dragon’s new look and abilities have differing opinions. Some are disappointed with the new skin, stating that the celestial being will be losing its grandness.

On the other hand, some are excited to see the changes that enhance the champion’s background story.

The rest? They are just confused (if you belong in this group, don’t worry, I was here too).

No matter where you fall, we can all expect the rework to drop in Patch 13.3 next month. Let’s see then how the new celestial dragon is received.

[VCS] After Winter, Teams on Fire and Teams to Fire

Unfortunate circumstances caused the Vietnamese Championship Series Summer 2021 to be postponed to Winter. While we never got to see these teams play on the international stage, it was still a fun watch nonetheless.

Meme Monday: You’ve seen the Spider-Verse, now get ready for the Riot-Verse

It’s only midway through January and Riot is already treating us well with the release of two new characters: Neon from Valorant and Zeri from League of Legends (LOL). Even better, Neon is canonically Filipino, a huge win for Southeast Asian gamers! But we, like the rest of the internet, are seeing double – Neon and Zeri are practically the same person. Case in point: They are voiced by the same Filipino voice actress, have very similar abilities and look basically identical. We can’t help but think that Riot is trying to hint at something…a Riot multiverse, perhaps? It won’t be too far-fetched, since crossovers between both games have happened and Valorant’s storyline literally revolves around a second Earth from another universe. Alright, that’s enough speculation. This Meme Monday, we bring you PROOF of the Riot-Verse. Well, kinda.

I am Female. I AM also ESPORTS!

Firstly, yes, I am female. Yes, I have a masculine name. I love playing FPS games, especially team based ones like Overwatch and Valorant, which often require team communication in order to win. However, I rarely talk. Why? Because I am female. Just look up videos talking about or showing the female gaming experience on YouTube and you’ll know exactly why. Rude remarks, people making a big fuss just because I sound like a girl and people blaming me for doing badly solely because of my gender and not because of my lack of skill. The list goes on.

2021 was a bit of a Riot, will it continue?

As we make our first steps into 2022, we look back at 2021 as Riot Games managed to keep us sane during tough times. Eat your heart out Blizzard-Activision because Riot Games are coming up with new things one game at a time while you only rely on nostalgia trips and scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Will SEA teams destroy this Horizon Cup?

The Horizon Cup is on the horizon. While I let that pun sink in a bit, it doesn’t detract from the fact that 10 of the best esports teams from across the globe will battle it out for supremacy at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore from Nov 13-21. While this isn’t Wild Rift Worlds per se, it gets pretty darn close to one.
