Hoyoverse’s latest hit game, Honkai Star Rail, has undoubtedly taken the gaming world by storm ever since its release last month. With the second half of version 1.0 having dropped a little less than a week ago, the Space Fantasy turn-based RPG has also released its highly-anticipated newest 5-star character.
A Lightning-type character who follows the Path of Erudition, Arbiter-General Jing Yuan of the Xianzhou Alliance has captured the hearts of countless players with not only his charming good looks but also his powerful kit.
Regardless of whatever reason you pulled for him, here’s a quick guide on how you can build Jing Yuan to reach his fullest potential.
Light Cones
It goes without saying that your best bet would be Before Dawn, his signature 5-star weapon currently available on the Brilliant Fixation Warp Event. Not only will it boost Jing Yuan’s CRIT DMG by a significant amount but it also increases the damage dealt by both his Skill and Ultimate.
However if you haven’t racked up enough pulls for both Jing Yuan and his Light Cone (or simply wish to save some money), some alternatives include:
- Night on the Milky Way
A pretty solid 5-star weapon alternative, it boosts the user’s ATK in stacks according to how many enemies are on the field. Additionally, inflicting Weakness Break on an enemy increases DMG dealt as well which is extra viable for an AOE DPS character such as Jing Yuan.
- The Seriousness of Breakfast
A 4-star Light Cone that buffs overall DMG as well as increases his ATK per every defeated enemy (with a max of 3 stacks).
- The Birth of the Self
Another 4-star alternative, this Light Cone buffs follow-up attacks which is viable for Jing Yuan since the Lightning Lord’s attacks are counted as follow-up attacks.
Relics
- 4-piece Band of Sizzling Thunder
Jing Yuan’s ideal relic set, this increases Lightning DMG (2-piece) and increases ATK for 1 turn after the wearer uses their Skill (4-piece).
- 4-piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat
A safe alternative for any DPS character, this set buffs overall ATK (2-piece) and increases SPD as well as Basic ATK DMG (4-piece).
As for Planar Ornament sets, you may consider Inert Salsotto for its 8% CRIT Rate boost as well as 15% Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG buff (given you have a CRIT Rate of 50% or more) or Sealing Space Station for a 12% ATK buff that can go up to a whopping 24% if your Jing Yuan has a SPD of 120 or higher.
