The first limited 5-star character to follow the Path of Preservation, Fuxuan’s arrival as a playable character has been long-awaited by many Honkai Star Rail fans. Unlike “traditional” Preservation characters, though, like Gepard or March 7th, Fuxuan provides protection and longevity to her teammates not through shields but via tanking a large portion of the damage herself (as well as providing buffs).
A unique character both lore-wise and gameplay-wise, Fuxuan is definitely a character most should try pulling for. If the gacha gods have deemed you worthy, here’s a quick and easy guide for your future Fuxuan:
Light Cone
Fuxuan’s ideal Light Cone will, of course, be her signature limited 5-star weapon: She Already Shut Her Eyes. This Light Cone will not only buff her own Max HP but also increase all allies’ DMG dealt for 2 turns after Fuxuan’s HP is reduced during battle (which will happen a lot considering her kit involves taking DMG for her allies). Additionally, the Light Cone will restore a set percentage of HP to all allies at the start of each wave.
Some decent alternatives to her signature Light Cone would be:
- Texture of Memories
Probably the best 5-star alternative for Fuxuan currently, this Light Cone doesn’t buff her Max HP but does provide much-needed longevity to her sacrificial playstyle by increasing her Effect Res and generating a shield upon being attacked (given she was previously shield-less). This weapon is also the most easily accessible 5-star option since players can redeem it from Herta’s Simulated Universe store.
- Moment of Victory
A decent enough 5-star alternative weapon, this Light Cone can also help keep Fuxuan alive during battles by increasing her DEF and Effect Hit Rate by a considerable amount–even more so when she’s attacked directly (which will happen more often since the Light Cone also increases the wearer’s chance of being attacked).
While Fuxuan doesn’t benefit directly from being targeted, it’s worth noting that her talent involves restoring her own HP after it falls to below 50% of her Max HP.
- We Are Wildfire
The best 4-star Light Cone for Fuxuan, this weapon boosts Fuxuan’s support capabilities greatly by reducing the DMG dealt to all allies by a set percent for 5 turns as well as immediately restoring all allies’ HP by a set percent. Though not directly buffing the wearer herself, this Light Cone’s abilities simply align too well with her playstyle to be dismissed.
Relics
- 4-piece Longevous Disciple
The ideal set for Fuxuan, this increases her Max HP (2-piece) as well as boosts her CRIT Rate (for 2 turns and up to 2 stacks) when she gets hit or her HP is consumed by an ally or herself (4-piece).
Though not meant to be a traditional damage dealer, Fuxuan possesses CRIT Rate traces so it is plausible to make her one if you so wish.
- 2-piece Longevous Disciple + 2-piece Guard of Wuthering Snow
This combo works well if you prefer your Fuxuan to be purely a support character as it increases her Max HP (Longevous Disciple) and reduces DMG taken (Guard of Wuthering Snow)
As for Planar Ornament sets, Broken Keel is her best option as it increases her Effect Res by 10% and boosts all allies’ CRIT DMG by 10% if her overall Effect Res is 30% or higher (which can work well with the two recommended 5-star Light Cones).
