We were all hopeful, even made a wishlist of sorts. But did GameFreak reinvent the wheel or did Pokémon Legends: Arceus fall flat?

Less than a year ago, a Pokémon Presents unveiled a variety of upcoming projects. However, one of them clearly made the biggest splash: Pokemon Legends. It even overshadowed the highly anticipated Gen 4 remakes. The surprise reveal took the community by storm, spawning multiple discussions and fan theories.

Long queues snake around the new arcade machine. Boxes rattle with piles of playing disks. Relentless pounding threatening to break the buttons. Children pull their parents by the hand, hoping for a glimpse of the action. Some adults are even swept into the thrill of it all.

Animation is a demanding craft to pick. From ideation to colour, it takes multiple teams to complete a polished final product. Imagine having to do that entire process by yourself.

Imagine charging into battle with your favourite main mage. Your teammates take the side lanes while you storm the enemy’s middle turrets. Attacks blast through heaps of minions that give you wealth you can only dream of. Connected with a common goal, you and your team overwhelm enemy defences to steal the victory. For 30 glorious minutes, escapism has never been easier.
