Team Secret Puppey Claims Fbz Will Stay for Another Round in Europe

Team Secret’s Dota 2 captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov recently lauded their new member, Saeiful “Fbz” Ilham, who has been playing well in the ongoing Dreamhack Season 20. He also stated that his club is eager in extending the Indonesian player’s loan period after Dreamhack S20.

Five days ago, Team Secret announced that they have signed Fbz on loan from Boom Esports as their new offlaner. Fbz replaced Miroslav “Boom” Bican who left the team on June 9. He is the second SEA player in Team Secret after Armel “Armel” Paul Tabios.

Initially, Team Secret fans were skeptical about the addition of Fbz in the team ahead of Dreamhack Season 20. They questioned his ability to communicate with his teammates in such a short period of time. Aside from that, they argued that Fbz who came from Boom Esports would be able to help them with anything remarkable, given that Boom was also demoted to division 2 this season.

The worries were effectively dismissed as Team Secret still got plenty of chances to advance to the playoffs. Fbz has been helping Team Secret in keeping up with challenging opponents like as Talon, Liquid, and PSG.LGD, and defeated Team Tundra of the DPC WEU Tour 3. After that match, Puppey stated he spent a lot of time playing with SEA players and sees Fbz as one of the best in the region.

“I’ve been playing a lot with SEA players. It’s a thing that I will constantly tap my mind into, to get some SEA dogs in my games, To be fair he’s (Fbz) a very good offlaner and he was kind of available, and since I was looking for offlaner he was kind of the better choice and I just went with it.”

Puppey then responded to questions regarding the continuation of Fbz’s contract after this season’s Dreamhack competition. He claimed that there is a high possibility that his team would maintain this lineup for the next competition, namely the regional qualifier for The International 12 for the coming months.

“I think most likely this is going to be the roster. Honestly we’re very close to beating teams 2-0 all the time and I think when we start beating teams we do it quite confidently. I think we just need to iron out some more things and then it’s going to be more 2-0 hopefully.”

Fbz loves it in Europe

At the moment, Fbz is more likely to extend his stay in Europe with his new team. In an interview session last night, he claimed that there are cultural differences between competitiveness in SEA and Europe, which helped him feel at ease playing with Team Secret.

“The biggest difference for me here in Europe is they mostly talking about strategy and draft but in SEA they’re talking more about the small details in the game like how to win, how to outplay the enemy in the game,” he said. “But in Europe, the environment here is more chill compared to SEA. In SEA everyone like to yell in the game.”

Furthermore, Fbz stated that Team Secret environment is quite welcoming and pleasant for new players like as himself. He confessed that he is still adjusting to his new European life, which he believes is vastly different and better than in Indonesia.

It seems like Boom Esports will have to put in significant effort to retain its ace before the start of the next season. As reported by their general manager, Boom Esports is now conducting an assessments before deciding to make a major change for the next season.
