A startling occurence happened last night during Dota 2 Pro Circuit WEU Division 2 Tour 3 match between Old G and Nigma Galaxy. The former had to struggle through 4 vs 5 situation because their support player, Adam “Aramiz” Moroz, decided to leave the team at the beginning of their game.
During that game, Aramis was connected to the game but quickly left before the game started, just a minute after the draft phase. The game was briefly paused for Aramis to reconnect, but he never did, and Old G kept playing with only four people. Old G lost the first game of the series and chose to forfeit the second game.
Fans are completely baffled by Aramis decision, which was the first time they’ve seen in professional Dota 2 competition. It was kind of expected, however, as Vladimir “Noone” Minenko revealed earlier this week that he was shocked by Aramis’s decision to leave the team. Noone said that “Everything is not so rosy, to be honest. Not in terms of results, but in terms of the team. At one point we just had a dude, Aramis, write: ‘I am quitting the team, goodbye’ when we got him on the roster. First time in my career that a guy writes on Discord, ‘I am quitting, I won’t play a game with you.’
Aside from their defeat, Aramis’ mere participation in the match against Nigma Galaxy last night means that Old G would be allowed to play with their stand-in for the final two games of the season . So far, Old G has only played twice with stand-in Vladimir “RodjER” Nikogosian, which is still below the amount of stand-in playtime limit rules by Valve.
With three victories and two defeats, Old G is now third in the WEU Div 2 DPC rankings, on par with Nigma Galaxy. They must win their final two games to sweep Level Up team out of second place and advance to the WEU DPC Division 1 for next season.
