Bleed Esports have finally achieved their first major victory in the Dota Pro Circuit SEA Division 1 competition after 5 months of bumpy ride. The Singapore’s finest are now sitting on top of the DPC SEA 2023 Tour 3 and will play their first Major on June 29.
Emerged at the end of 2022, Bleed’s Dota 2 team made its debut in the 2023 DPC SEA Division 1 after purchasing T1’s spot. Like its Valorant team, Bleed aspire to be the number one in the SEA competitive scene and tries to make a name in the international competition.
The path to the top of DPC SEA, however, was not easy. Bleed Esports barely survived the Tour 1, finished in sixth with 3 wins and 4 defeats. The addition of SEA superstars Daryl “iceiceice” Koh and Djardiel “DJ” Mampusti for Tour 2 in March was not enough as they ended up with another sixth-place finish.
Their situation took a positive turn when the competitive scene got its hands on Patch 7.33 in May. Bleed decided to replace head coach Lee “Forev” Sang-don with European veteran Rasmus “Misery” Filipsen and shown significant improvement in a short period of time. DJ then praised Rasmus as the key figure who restored their confidence and made them understand each other’s game.
At the moment, Bleed are leading with five wins and one defeat. While there is still one match remaining on the schedule, they have already secured their tickets for their first Major in Bali, Indonesia. Seeing how far they’ve come this season, it’s definitely safe to assume that fans are going to hype them up as the next SEA dark horse after Talon.
Bleed may not be the only debutant in DPC SEA 2023 to qualify for the Bali Major; as Blacklist Rivalry have made it to second place in Tour 3. Still, the Philippines new sensation have to defend their spot against Execration and Talon, with four wins and two defeats.
