Following a streak of disappointing outcomes in two Dota Pro Circuit SEA Division 1 tours in the past four months, Blacklist Rivalry has finally decided to make a swap ahead of Tour 3 which will be started in less than two weeks.
Blacklist Rivalry which was formed towards the tail end of 2022 quickly drew attention from DPC SEA fans. The inclusion of several well-known Filipino players at the team, dubbed as ‘Filipino Pride‘, has marked them as the next big thing in DPC SEA.
Blacklist Rivalry’s hoped-for outcomes, however, have yet to materialise. Despite a promising run in Tour 1, there were no progress and the team went into decline by Tour 2. So far, they have failed to qualify for the Major, which is their primary objective, by failing to finish in the top three in two Tours.
With only one chance left to compete in the upcoming Major in June, Blacklist recently made the decision to switch ahead of Tour 3. Following the departure of Nico “eyyou”‘” Barcelon at the end of Tour 2, Blacklist CEO Tryke Gutierrez stated last Wednesday that veteran offlaner Damien “kpii” Chok will be joining them soon.
For the upcoming tour, Blacklist will set Kpii as their position 3 player, replacing Carlo “Kuku” Palad, who moved to position 5. Considering Kpii’s amazing achievements at The International 7 and MDL Chengdu Major 2019, his insight and mentality will undoubtedly give a new hope for Blacklist team as they are heading into DPC SEA Tour 3 and try to clinch a top three finish to qualify for this season’s final Major in Bali.
