Blacklist Rivalry has secured the third place in the Dota Pro Circuit SEA Division 1 Tour 3 and will advance to their first Major competition in Bali. Blacklist Rivalry will follow Bleed Esports as DPC SEA debutants at the Bali Major. Bleed Esports got their spot earlier by winning the DPC SEA Tour 3, followed by Execration in second place.
Blacklist Rivalry made their way to the DPC SEA in the same way as Bleed Esports did, by buying the spot of the previous team. Like its popular Mobile Legends: Bang Bang division, Blacklist Rivalry were aiming to conquer the competition in Southeast Asia.
Touted as the “Filipino Pride”, their initial lineup were comprised of Filipino stars Karl “Karl” Baldovino”, Nico “eyyou” Barcelon, Timothy “Tims” Randrup, Marc Polo “Raven” Fausto and Carlo “Kuku” Palad. The team, however, failed to live up to expectations as they were struggling to stay in Division 1 throughout Tours 1 and 2 instead of challenging for the top spot.
Ahead of DPC Tour 3, Blacklist ultimately decided to make an adjustment in the team by replacing Nico “Eeyou” Barcelon with The International 2017 runner-up Damien “kpii” Chok from Australia as their offlaner and moved Kuku to position 5. The presence of kpii instantly had a good influence on his comrades, as the team showed some improvement and solid teamwork compared to their previous tours.
The Blacklist’s triumph over Mansion Army Geniuses team this afternoon ensured their spot for the Bali Major on June 29th. Additionally, they denied Talon Esports’ chance, who ended in fourth place, to advance to the Bali Major. The absence of Talon and TSM, who failed to qualify to Bali Major as well, means there will be no Indonesian representative to compete in their own home country this month.
