4D Esports, the South American tournament organiser for Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) South America 2021-2022, has finally addressed the situation on social media, following the controversy about the prize pool distribution of DPC SA 2021/2022 Tour 3.

Few days ago, a number of players and teams who competed in the DPC SA Tour 3 2021/2022 claimed that 4D failed to fulfill their responsibility to pay them the tournament prizes which had ended four months ago.

4D social media team then issued a statement on Twitter, which outlining the genuine reason for the delayed prize pool payment.

The organiser apologized for the payment delay and any inconvenience caused by it. 4D stated that one of the tournament’s sponsors was responsible for this.

Furthermore, 4D said that they are going to settle their dispute through legal means, as the sponsor in question has not paid their due since Tour 1. They intend to complete the payment in the upcoming weeks.

According to 4D’s statement, seven teams have not yet been received prizes for DPC SA 2021/2022 Tour 3. Among them are SG Esports and Wolf Team, which brought this issue on social media earlier.

The reputation of South America Dota competitive scene will undoubtedly be tarnished if this issue is never resolved, given the upcoming competition schedule for the 2022/2023 season, the increasing level of competition in South America, and the region’s place as the host of Major in 2023.

Valve has not yet responded on the issue that occurred in South America. Dota fans on social media, however, hope that Valve will immediately implement adjustments to prevent something like this from happening in the future.
