MPL ID S13 Week 5: Yawi Inspires Aura Fire’s Redemption Run

World champion of MLBB Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera inspired his teammates at Aura Fire to continue their winning streak in the recently concluded fifth week of MLBB Pro League Indonesia S13. The Dragon is now sitting in second place in the current standings with the same points as Bigetron Alpha, who remains at top.

Aura’s triumphs served as a poignant retaliation, particularly after overcoming Alter Ego and Dewa United, both of whom dealt the team humbling defeats during the initial stages of the competition. In a span of two days, Aura defeated Alter Ego on Saturday (4/20) and Dewa United on Sunday (4/21).

Against AE, Aura was struggling in game 1 against the surprise Chip for the first time in this competition. Nevertheless, it successfully retaliated in the second game through impressive play by Yawi’s Chou, wrecking AE’s setup, and equalized the score.

Riding the momentum of that victory, Aura maintained pressure, forcing AE to make uncharacteristic mistakes. Yawi’s excellent blocks created space for his teammate, Yehezkiel “Syndrome” Wiseman, allowing him to effortlessly dispatch AE players and secure crucial objectives throughout the game. In just 16 minutes and 23 seconds, Aura sealed the match with a resounding 19-6 victory.

Aura’s good form continued as it faced DU the next day and completed the series with a big win. Although DU had some surprisingly good tactics, Yawi once again shone as a crucial player with his disrupting gameplay and providing space for his teammates to win important objectives. Aura secured a 2-0 win in that series.

This victory puts Aura close to Bigetron, who is at the top position with a slightly better head-to-head difference. However, considering the form between the two at the moment, there is a high possibility that Yawi and his teammates could surpass the Red Robot in the 6th week and secure a playoff spot earlier.

Aura was not the only team that showed impressive improvements in week 5. Evos Glory, who had been very disappointing, finally found the tactical balance they were looking for and is now crawling out of the elimination zone, leaving behind their arch-rival, RRQ Hoshi.
