In a gripping encounter on Tuesday, Geek Fam clinched a significant victory by besting Deus Vult 2-1 in their third game. The match showcased a fierce battle between the two teams, capturing the attention of Geek Fam’s Filipino standout, Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy.
Executing a solid performance, Geek Fam easily secured the first game, establishing a slight lead. Despite initially dominating the second game with a substantial gold advantage, Deus Vult displayed resilience, staging a comeback to level the score at 1-1 and intensifying the competition.
The third game witnessed Geek Fam facing pressure from their opponents, with Deus Vult showcased better discipline compared to the previous game. Fortunately, Baloyskie’s composed leadership guided his team to a 2-1 victory, overcoming the challenges. Although most viewers were expecting an effortless win for the Indonesian dark horse, Baloyskie identified Deus Vult as the most surprising opponent his team has encountered thus far.
“Deus Vult (was the most surprising) because, with Homebois, they defeated us in MPLI 2023 and held a superior position. I believe Deus Vult (was the surprising one),” expressed Baloyksie exclusively to Ulti Asia.
Regrettably, the celebratory moment was overshadowed by the post-match actions of the jungler, Manuel “Nnael” Simbolon, who flashed an unsportsmanlike gesture towards Deus Vult players. Consequently, Moonton imposed a two-game ban on Nnael for his conduct in the upcoming matches.
