Deus Vult’s Captain Eyes Advancement for Showdown with Filipino and Indonesian Stars in M5

Representing the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in the fifth edition of the MLBB World Championship in the Philippines (M5), Deus Vult has expressed a fervent desire to take on the renowned names of the MLBB competitive scene in the Southeast Asia region.

In a remarkable turn of events, Deus Vult pulled off a surprise victory by defeating the North American representatives, TheOhioBrothers, in their first M5 group stage match with a decisive 2-1 scoreline. Adding to the intrigue, the team concluded the best-of-three set with one of the longest matches in the M5 group stage, a gripping encounter that stretched over 31 minutes.

However, the triumph over the North American dark horse appears insufficient to satiate the appetite of the Deus Vult squad, who exhibit a palpable eagerness to confront heavyweight contenders participating in this prestigious competition. This sentiment was underscored by Deus Vult’s captain, Stanislav “Sawo” Reshnyak.

During a post-match interview session yesterday, Sawo, donning the dual role of roamer and coaching team member, revealed that the team remains unsatisfied with yesterday’s victory and expressed his eagerness to battle some of the popular Filipino faces in the competitive scene.

“In the group stage, I want to meet Markyyy (Geek Fam). The other would be Super Marco (AP Bren) since I like his playstyle and he doesn’t make a lot of mistakes; that’s why I want to face him too.” said Sawo.

In addition to expressing admiration for Filipino players, Sawo also articulated his motivation to square off against Onic Esports, a team featuring one of his favorite players, Calvin “CW” Winata. He expressed a strong desire to test his skills against CW to showcase the extent of his team’s progress.

“Who do we want to finish off in M5? I don’t know about these guys, but for me it would be Onic Esports from Indonesia. Because I spent a lot of hours watching pro players streams, I used to watch CW’s streams, and we want to compare our skills with them, especially between him versus me.”

Despite the ambitious tone, Deus Vult retains a significant chance of making substantial strides and facing formidable representatives from SEA in the upcoming rounds, including Onic Esports. With the strategic addition of Filipino Kenneth “Flysolo” Coloma as coach, they undoubtedly possess invaluable insights into the evolving meta of the competitive SEA scene, given Coloma’s firsthand experience in the intensely competitive MPL PH and MDL ID over the past two years.
