In a surprising turn of events, Bleed Esports has finalized its Dota 2 roster ahead of the imminent ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 Southeast Asia Closed Qualifier, set to kick off tomorrow. The revelation comes with an intriguing narrative.
Yesterday, the Singapore-based esports organization teased the completion of their new lineup, intending to make a formal announcement via X. However, the information surfaced prematurely on Liquipedia, confirming two notable signings.
As per the leak, Bleed has secured the services of Tommy “Taiga” Le and welcomed back Natthaphon “Masaros” Ouanphakdee, both recently departed from their respective teams. This move fills the void left by Kim “Dubu” Doo-young and Daryl “iceiceice” Xiang, the latter having disclosed his departure during a live streaming session last week.
These transfers mark a compelling decision, particularly in the case of Taiga, whose professional career primarily unfolded in the Western European region. Formerly recognized as one of the best support players in the region during his tenure with OG, Taiga temporarily withdrew from the spotlight between August and October to confront issues related to addiction and mental health. His transition to the SEA region presents an opportunity for redemption in Dota 2 competitive scene.
On the other hand, Masaros returns to the team after a disappointing performance in Dota 2 Pro Circuit SEA 2023 Tour 1 and 2. The 26-year-old Thai player was displaced by ice and subsequently joined Team SMG. Although SMG secured the 6th spot in Tour 3, they clinched the final position for The International 12 through the Last Chance Qualifier, despite falling short in the group stage.
While this new roster is almost certainly to become Bleed’s official lineup for the upcoming competition, speculations persist that the organization is contemplating a surprise transfer post-ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 for the position 2, currently occupied by Teng “Kordan” Yao.
