MPL ID Season 12 Week 6: Bigetron Alpha and Evos Legends Struggling to Reverse Their Losing Streak

The sixth week of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League Indonesia Season 12, which concluded last Sunday, saw some surprises from Bigetron Alpha and Evos Legends, who lost their games so badly and are now on the verge of failing to qualify for the playoffs.

Bigetron Alpha came home with little time to prepare after the MLBB competition at IESF 2023, which took place a week ago in Romania. And it was predicted that the humiliating loss to the Philippines Sibol team in the grand finals would influence the squad’s mood, which unfortunately proved to be true.

Although they had some excellent moments against Dewa United and Team RRQ, things were not going as smoothly as they had hoped since their opponents improved drastically after the league’s two-week hiatus. Dewa, which showed solid teamwork, succeeded in forcing Bigetron to play more recklessly and take the opportunity to turn things around. The match ended with a score of 1-2, a win for Dewa.

This result did not discourage Bigetron’s determination to engage in an aggressive game against RRQ on the next matchday. Yet again, their opponents found a way to exploit their risky playstyle. RRQ played more calmly and dominated the late game, thanks to the combination of Andre “Banana” Putra and Min “Naomi” Ko. Bigetron eventually fell to another 1-2 defeat.

On the other side, their opponents, Evos Legends, are now facing a steep decline after failing to capitalize on last week’s league break. Following a shocking defeat against Geek Fam, their performance dropped further when they failed to win the remaining games against Alter Ego and Dewa in week 6, losing 1-2 in both sets.

Given the team’s current situation, many believe it will be impossible for them to turn things around without making a significant move or recalling their clutch players, Dalvin “Hijumee” Putra and Rizqi “Saykots” Iskandar, who are now playing for Evos Icon in the MLBB Development League.  Furthermore, they are facing backlash from their ardent supporters, who believe that the squad is on the verge of a crisis and are demanding a change from the head coach Steven “Age” Gunawan.

Apart from these two teams, viewers saw an extraordinary increase in performance from Geek Fam, Rebellion Zion, and Dewa, who had been inconsistent during the first half of the season. The three of them now hold places three, four, and five in the regular season standings, and they may go further if they can keep up with their new playstyle. Of course, it would be a big surprise if one of them somehow managed to beat Onic Esports, who is still in the lead.
