MLBB Caster Mirko Calls Out Toxicity in Indonesian Gaming Communities

Toxic behavior in Southeast Asian gaming communities has been a topic frequently discussed by experts who have observed crowd reactions at major events over the years. And it has certainly caught the attention of the international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang caster, Frederick “Mirko” Loho, who chastised the Indonesian MLBB community for their inappropriate comments.

The English-speaking caster expressed his disappointment with some Indonesian fans who can’t accept criticisms, even go so far as to spread derogatory remarks regarding MLBB esports talent. He felt that professionals should not always be required to sugarcoat their view on MLBB games and free to say anything they want as long as they can justify their comments.

During the recent IESF 2023 watch party on his social media account, he reported that Marcel “Moreno” Sinulingga, a member of the Bigetron Alpha team, had received harsh remarks from Filipino and Indonesian viewers. He understood that the Filipino audience despised Moreno due to his remarks in the past tournament, but he argued that Indonesian fans shouldn’t do the same.

“He spoke a lot of s**t too, about mukbang and stuff, and he talked the talk, he walked the walk at Snapdragon Pro Series,” Mirko said. “He was the one who talking shit, so I think getting the hate from Philippines is completely normal. You know what’s crazy? The fact that he got hate from Indonesians too. And I’m not talking about IESF!”

He went on saying that all this time the community has become too soft with these sugarcoated comments during tournaments and unable to face the truth when their favorite teams or players underperform. He continued with his rant regarding his displeasure when it came to casting for an Indonesian MLBB livestream.

“The Indonesian netizens want zero facts. The fact that they cannot accept facts is crazy. In the Indonesian stream, as an analyst you need to be the most beta b****es of all time, you need to sugarcoat everything you say!” he said. In English (Livestream) I would just say whatever the f**k I want. I’m an analyst, that’s what I’m supposed to say. What do you want me to say, a miracle can happen? Jesus can come down to the land of dawn and f****ng win the game for the team?

Moreno was one of the highlighted players in the Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3 for his critical statements after Bigetron Alpha eliminated a number of Filipino teams to reach the grand finals. The Filipino supporters eventually replied with insults when Moreno and the Indonesian MLBB national team lost against the Philippines Sibol MLBB team in the IESF 2023 grand finals a few days ago.
