MLBB and Echo Philippines Sweep the MOBIES 2023 Awards in Los Angeles

The year 2023 has been a remarkable one for Moonton. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s competitive scene has grown dramatically over the past year, drawing in both longtime esports fans and newcomers with top tournaments like M4 and MSC 2023, which amassed outstanding viewership numbers. And media outside of Asia recently have taken notice of this significant accomplishment, with the MOBIES – Mobile Gaming Awards celebrating the huge success of MLBB and one of SEA powerhouses, Echo Philippines.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang emerged as the top winner at the first-ever MOBIES, which took place last weekend in Los Angeles. The M4 World Championship was named the best ‘Mobile Esports Tournament Of The Year,’ marking the first time the worldwide tournament series had received a global award for its achievements in mobile esports gaming.

“We are extremely thankful and humbled to have the opportunity to be at the MOBIES and to walk off with not one, but several awards,” stated Kelly Chiew, Head of Public Relations, MOONTON Games, “Our success would not have been made possible without the support of our fans, partners, and more importantly our team that has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the magic happen.

Additionally, the M4 champions Echo Philippines and its ace Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales were recognised for their hard work over the past year. Echo Philippines bagged the award for ‘Mobile Team Of The Year’, while Bennyqt earned the title of ‘Mobile Player Of The Year’.

This award might finally bring MLBB to mainstream western audiences who haven’t been interested to try the game up until now. With larger audiences, naturally, Moonton will have the chance to expand the MLBB league in the US, which has so far been more known through controversial player such as Michael “Mobazane” Cosgun.
