A new slate of updates guaranteed to bring the highly-anticipated Diablo 4 to the next level has been announced.
Earlier this year in March, Blizzard Entertainment held an open beta, offering early access to the highly-anticipated game for fans. This also allowed Blizzard to collect feedback on the action role-playing game ahead of its early June release, giving them the opportunity to improve the game for users.
Based on critiques and comments made on the official Diablo 4 forums as well as platforms like Reddit and Discord, Blizzard’s development team has made various adjustments to the game.
One of the most important areas of improvement is dungeon layouts. Initially, many players criticised the dungeon layouts as they required a heavy amount of backtracking. This became some of the most popular feedback given. To combat this, up to nine dungeon layouts, including that of Caldera Gate, Defiled Catacombs and Derelict Lodge were overhauled.
“We have optimised multiple dungeons across all zones to minimise the need for backtracking,” said Blizzard in a lengthy blog post detailing all the implemented changes.
Another heavily upgraded area was all of the game’s classes. These are Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue and Sorceror. The list of changes is long, from effects like Stun and Freeze lasting twice as long on Elite Monsters before they become Unstoppable across all classes to all Ultimate skills having reduced cooldowns in Druid.
Other changes were made to the user interface, encounters, cellars and general quality of life. It’s clear that Blizzard is trying to adjust as much as possible to suit the players’ needs.
Diablo 4 is slated to drop on June 6 this year, on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. If these improvements are anything to go off of, it’s bound to be a fun time.
