The Aegis is Coming Home: Return to Seattle?

The International 2022 Championship has finally ended last Sunday. Tundra Esports Dota team became the second surprise team to win TI, prior to this was Team Spirit who recorded a surprise victory in TI as well, against the crowd’s favorite team last year.

However, their victory was not the only surprise from TI 11. A source from escorenews recently claimed that the biggest Dota 2 tournament will return to their “old home” in Seattle, United States.

There has been no more information regarding the venue for The International 2023 in Seattle. Keep in mind that given the ample time to prepare, Valve might revisit the location and explore choices other than Seattle.

If the rumor comes true, it will be the first time that TI tournament will be staged in the United States after five years. Previous International competitions were held in various nations for the fourth time in a row: in Canada, China, Romania and Singapore. It was canceled in 2020 due to the covid-19 virus that widely spread across the globe.

Nonetheless, the rumor of TI’s return to Seattle will undoubtedly induce nostalgia to veteran viewers. It’s widely known that players like AdmiralBulldog, Sylar, KuroKy, Puppey, Mushi, and Matumbaman rose to prominence during their Seattle years. There were iconic moments during these Seattle years as well, such as the iconic fountain hook in TI 2013 or Miracle – Matumbaman bait in TI 2017 to name a few.
