This year’s League of Legends World Championship AKA Worlds may be over, but we KNOW you are still bopping your heads to this year’s anthem, Burn It All Down. We don’t blame you, it IS lit (pun intended).
While it is no hot take that Worlds songs are all top-tier, we just can’t help but notice that some are better – or worse than others. So we took it upon ourselves to do the dirty work and rank the three worst Worlds songs here. Please kindly lower your pitchforks, we can explain.

3. Take Over
Remember how we said earlier that all the Worlds songs are good? Yeah, we really mean it. Unfortunately, Take Over was good, but not good enough. It just lacks the grand flair that Worlds songs are known for. That said, it does hit the right notes, has impactful beat drops and is a fantastic listen despite bringing something slightly different to the table. The story it tells is also great, with the concept of new players taking the reins of the sport from old favourites, reminding us that as the esport grows, so do its champions. Again, an amazing Worlds song. Better ones just took over it.
2. Ignite
Ignite is proof that even if a big name like Zedd is involved, it doesn’t always mean that the song will be a banger. Ignite suffers the same “lack of grandiose” problem as Take Over, but…worse. The beats are repetitive, almost in a lazy manner, and the beat drop is nothing unique. This is a pity because the beats sounded like retro game sound effects, which gave a nice and meaningful touch to the song. However, we do give props to the music video: It’s crisp, dynamic, bold and different, definitely something eye-catching and memorable.
1. Worlds Collide
Okay, okay, we know we said that Ignite and Take Over were lacking grandeur, but Worlds Collide suffers from the opposite problem – it is TOO grand for a Worlds song. It sounds seriously epic, reminiscent of the main theme of fantasy blockbusters. For that, it just doesn’t give the correct type of hype that we want for an esports tournament. Also, is it just us or do the amazing vocals in this song sound muted out by the instrumentals? One thing’s for sure, though, Riot did this song dirty by giving us a pretty lame music video, if you can even call it that.
So that’s our verdict for the worst three Worlds songs! That said, being the worst Worlds song is like being the poorest billionaire – still a winner no matter what.
