RRQ Hoshi Unveils Bold Rebuilding Plans After Disastrous MPL ID Season 13

Having parted ways with two Filipino personnel, Vrendon Pesebre and Borris “Brusko” Parro, within the span of a week, RRQ Hoshi has unveiled plans for a massive rebuild. The team will explore new opportunities to complete their new squad for the next MLBB Pro League Indonesia Season 14.

On June 14, 2024, RRQ announced the departure of M Series-winning coach Vrendon Pesebre, citing a technical decision. Shortly after, they revealed Brusko’s exit as he plans to return to the Philippines. Both joined RRQ less than six months ago after leaving their previous teams.

These changes come on the heels of RRQ’s disappointing performance in MPL ID Season 13, where they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. After making it through the regular season within a hair’s breadth from red zone, RRQ struggled against a determined Geek Fam, ultimately losing 2-3 in a dramatic defeat.

In response to the team’s decline, RRQ hardcore fans flooded social media with calls for significant changes before the new season. And CEO Andrian “AP” Pauline has taken these concerns to heart, promising a major overhaul following another disappointing season and the previous year’s humiliating finish.

In a recent social media post, AP shared his vision for the future, revealing plans to field seven players and explore new opportunities beyond Indonesia. He hinted that more departures might be on the horizon to make room for promising new talent.

“I can’t please everyone, but I will ensure a massive change for RRQ. You can hate or criticize me if you want. Whether you support my decision or oppose it, that’s fine by me,” said AP.

AP also indicated that the team might reconsider investing heavily in Filipino imports due to the high costs of recent transfers. With Brusko’s departure, John “Irrad” Abarquez remains the only Filipino player on the roster.

This shake-up has fueled rumors about new talents from lesser-known Asian countries. Additionally, there’s speculation that former roamer Min “Naomi” Ko, who returned to Myanmar after a brief stint in MPL ID Season 12, might be interested in rejoining RRQ.

As RRQ Hoshi enters this period of transformation, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how these changes will help the Indonesian King to reclaim their throne in the next season.
