Valve has delivered on its promise regarding the launch of the next Crownfall update, continuing the Ascension saga that began with the “Market of Midgate” arc. And with this patch 7.36 comes two major additions that will significantly enhance strategic play to Dota 2: innate abilities for every hero and hero facets.
“The Desert of Druuds” storyline takes center stage, featuring Skywrath Mage and Pudge as they track the Kazurai army into the southern deserts. This update brings a desert-themed mini-game, new story options, characters, treasure, cosmetics, and much more.
Beyond the cosmetics, the standout features of update 7.36 are the game-changing additions: innate abilities and hero facets. These updates will fundamentally alter the skill set of every Dota 2 hero, requiring players to adapt and master new strategies.
Innate abilities are passive skills that heroes will have automatically unlocked at the start of a match, adding new dimensions to their gameplay. For example, Dawnbreaker’s Break of Dawn reveals the entire map to allies at sunrise, while Disruptor’s Electromagnetic Repulsion pushes back enemies when he takes certain amount of damage.
Hero facets offer players a choice between two or more bonuses for their hero at the start of a match. After selecting a hero, players can pick a facet that best fits their desired role, allowing for tailored strategic decisions.
Additionally, Valve has implemented significant changes to other game elements, making competitive play even more intriguing. Notable updates include the Glyph of Fortification, which no longer refreshes when the first Tier 3 tower is destroyed, Hero Denies that now grant experience to the hero who caused the deniable debuff, and a Dominated Creeps update that prevents players from bypassing backdoor protection.
With DreamLeague Season 23 currently underway, fans are eager to see how professional players will adapt to these updates and what innovative strategies will emerge in competitive play. Stay tuned for thrilling matches and groundbreaking plays as the pros navigate the latest patch.
