The Indonesian esports powerhouse, Bigetron, has transferred their entire Bigetron Era squad, the all-female MLBB team, to Team Vitality last Monday night (5/13). The announcement came mere hours after Bigetron revealed the team’s disbandment on its social media account.
According to Vitality’s official account, they have acquired the full team roster, comprised of Cindy “Cinny” Laurent, Venny “Fumi” Lim, Viorelle “Vival” Chen, Michell “Chell” Denise, and Vivi “Vivian” Indrawaty. Additionally, they have appointed head coach Ilham “susugajah” Bahrul to the team.
The French organization’s official website post expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to announce the integration of Bigetron Era into Team Vitality, marking a significant strategic move for us. It’s an immense honor to welcome one of the world’s premier teams, regardless of gender, into our family.”
“This partnership primes us for success at the Esports World Cup, and also presents a golden opportunity to make waves in key markets like Indonesia and mobile gaming. Team Vitality is committed to promoting women’s esports, and we’re honoured to support and collaborate with such a talented team.” says Fabien ‘Neo’ Devide, co-founder and Chairman of Team Vitality.
The announcement indeed comes as a surprise, considering Bigetron Era is widely regarded as one of the best female MLBB teams in the world. Over the last three years, the team has secured numerous major trophies, including back-to-back MLBB Women’s Championship titles, a gold medal for Indonesia at the SEA Games 2023, and most recently, a victory at WSL Season 8, which guaranteeing their participation in the next MDL Indonesia Season 10 and Esports World Cup in Riyadh this summer.
That being said, agreeing to the buyout by Vitality seems like a sensible decision, given Moonton’s regulation prohibiting two teams from the same organization to compete in the same circuit. In this case, Bigetron would field two MLBB teams in MDL ID S10, Bigetron Era and Bigetron Beta.
Interestingly, Team Vitality has recently joined the ranks of the Esports World Cup Foundation Club Support Program, along with 29 other esteemed teams. Not only this partnership will provide Vitality with financial support to expand into new gaming titles and elevate content, but it will also raise anticipation about Vitality’s plans within the professional female MLBB scene on the global platform.
