After nearly a year, former Singaporean Valorant top youngster, Sha “ZesBeeW” Mohtar, is finally back in the Valorant esports scene in Indonesia as the gunman for Boom Esports. And as expected, this announcement has sparked excitement among fans as he becomes the lone non-Indonesian player on the squad.
Taking over the spot left by Oliver “budimeister” Wangge, ZesBeeW’s arrival came as a bit of a surprise, especially since the team was heavily linked to some of Indonesia’s rising talents like Cahya “Monyet” Nugraha.
For the 24-year-old Singaporean, this move marks a reunion with former teammate Sheldon “ncslasher” Andersen, now a key player at Boom Esports. Along with budimeister, they had previously showcased their prowess as part of the Bigetron Arctic team, leaving a mark in some Indonesian competitions, including the VCT Challenger Indonesia series.
ZesBeeW’s time at Bigetron was highlighted by his pivotal role in securing the team’s first VCT trophy in Challengers Indonesia Split 1. However, the following split saw them fall short, finishing fourth and missing out on VCT Ascension Pacific.
By the end of his Bigetron stint, ZesBeeW took a step back, returning to Singapore before making a comeback in October 2023 with a C-tier team named Happy Friends, which also featured popular names such as Lionel “lenne” Xiang and Delbert “Delb” Tanoto. The team clinched the Singapore Predator League 2024 title and advanced to the APAC competition.
With his impressive track record, Boom fans are eagerly anticipating ZesBeeW’s contribution to the team’s success in the upcoming Split 2. However, challenges lie ahead, particularly from Alter Ego Valorant, who bolstered their lineup with the Red Bull international stack acquisition last year.
