After weeks of speculation on social media, the Blacklist International team has officially announced that they will be joining the Dota competition in SEA, starting next month.
Through his Twitter account, Tryke Gutierrez, the co-founder of Tier One Entertainment, has just announced that he will bring Blacklist to compete in the DPC Southeast Asia for the upcoming season.
Moreover, Tryke stated that he acquired this opportunity by purchasing the DPC slot which previously owned by the Singaporean team, RSG. Since RSG had finished fourth in DPC SEA 2021/2022, they will begin the 2022/2023 competition straight from Division one.
Blacklist fans knew that Tryke is fully committed to bring his team in the major Dota and Valorant spotlights this year.
At this time, the Blacklist team has not revealed any other information regarding the players who will be joining them for the upcoming DPC. Tryke, however, said that he intends to make Blacklist as a team that carries “Philippines Pride” on their badge.
Several names are being talked on social media. One of them is Carlo “Kuku” Palad, who recently left T1. During his livestreaming session, the player who had become a meme during the TI 11 qualifiers quipped that the clothes he was wearing were a hint of which team he will be playing for in the near future.
Given how well Blacklist has done in esports competition so far, and with their resources, surely they will have no trouble in luring top free agents across SEA. They will undoubtedly be spoiled by the wide range of options, ranging from the freshly released T1 and Polaris players to multiple Boom Esports players, the majority of whom are coming from the Philippines.
