History has been made as Bleed Esports defeated team Scarz in the Grand Final of VCT 2023 Pacific: Ascension in Bangkok last night to become the first team to make it into Tier 1 competition under Riot Games’ Challengers and Ascension series, which was implemented in 2023.

Bleed Esports have demonstrated their superiority throughout Challengers and Ascension in 2023, thanks to their excellent map awareness and teamwork. Although they were almost caught off guard by Boom Esports in the semifinals, they managed to overcome their pressure and emerged as the winner to reach the grand final against Scarz, the Japanese underdog.

The series began with Bleed picked one of their favorite maps, Haven. Although they had it easy in the few early games, Scarz was determined to equalize and pushed the Singaporean team through round 14 to 19. Bleed, however, held off their opponents’ quick comeback to win the map 13-9.

Bleed then shown complete domination in game two, overpowering Scarz and quickly scoring 13-3 in Bind. Nutchaphon “sScary” Matarat, the hometown star, destroyed them with his excellent Brimstone.

With a match point in hand, Bleed swiftly outscored Scarz 8-4 in the first half of Fracture’s game three. The Japanese side, on the other hand, was not going down without a fight. They shown their resolve by pushing Bleed through rounds nine to fifteen. However, it was not enough as Bleed patiently countered them and finished the game by 13-8 to win the VCT Ascension Pacific.

The triumph established Bleed as one of the greatest teams in the Asia-Pacific Valorant circuit, alongside Singaporean compatriot, Paper Rex, who has risen as one of the global Valorant powerhouses. They will receive $20,000 and a ticket to compete in the Pacific League 2024.
