Team Haq Announces Emotional Exit from MLBB Pro League Malaysia

In a surprising turn of events, MLBB Pro League Malaysia fan-favorite Team Haq has announced their disbandment following a string of disappointing results in the MPL Malaysia Season 13 playoffs and the ESL Snapdragon Mobile Open Finals.

Having entered the professional MLBB scene in 2021, Team Haq found their breakthrough during the MPL MY S10 qualifier in July 2022. They made headlines by winning their first title in Season 10, upsetting Malaysian powerhouse Todak, and securing a ticket to the M4 championship in Indonesia in January 2023.

However, the team struggled to maintain their competitive edge and failed to clinch any major titles throughout 2023. In a bid to make a final push, the team signed MPL MY and MPL ID veterans Ahmad “Leixia” Hazawi and Dicky “Saken” Cahyana but ultimately fell short in the playoffs.

The announcement, made public today via WTM Today’s Instagram page, featured Team Haq’s owner Aiman Haq confirming the disbandment during a press conference. An Instagram user also noted that Aiman had previously hinted at the organization’s decision before the start of MPL MY S13, which most likely happened due to a financial issue.

Aiman also mentioned that his players might not be leaving MPL MY entirely, as there are offers from several organizations. However, he insists on a buyout only if the potential owner agrees to sign all of Team Haq’s players.

“They have worked very hard to carry Team Haq. Although their salaries are basic, I feel sorry for them. They are players with high potential. I pray that they find the right team that will take care of them,” he said.

Despite interest from international organizations like Team OG and NaVi, Aiman is reluctant to sell due to his commitment to his players. Recently, there has been speculation that Malaysian football giant Johor Darul Ta’zim FC might engage in talks given their interest in MLBB esports.

Later on, Aiman clarified that he would be stepping away from the esports industry to focus on his personal life and education but promised a potential return if the opportunity arises.
