RSG Singapore, the three-time back-to-back champions of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Singapore (MPL SG), has just launched an exciting new initiative to boost the esports scene and finding the next young superstars. This announcement comes alongside the departure of long-time member Weelun “Diablo” Yeo.
Three days ago, Diablo, who has been a key player and captain for RSG, bid farewell to the team as he moved to rival squad, Team Flash. His departure marks a significant shift in his career and is making waves in the esports community. The Singaporean played a vital role in securing three consecutive MPL Singapore Championships.
Apart from Diablo’s departure, RSG announced a new project to strengthen the esports scene and support the development of future stars. The organization has committed $500,000 to scout and nurture upcoming talent over the next few years. Notably, there will be a competition called the RSG Cup Series—a collection of hyper-localized tournaments spanning Southeast Asia.
Regarding this big project, RSG SG’s founder Jayf Soh expressed enthusiasm for the RSG Cup Series, highlighting its role in identifying and supporting the best gaming talent.
“The RSG Cup Series is a testament to our commitment to scouting and developing the best gaming talent. Over the last few years, we have refined our player development process to field highly competitive quality teams across Southeast Asia. We are now eager to further scale up and welcome partners who share our vision of empowering players and to replicate this success with the next generation of gaming talent,” he said.
