In an interesting development, RRQ has reunited with their legendary duo, Diky “Tuturu” and William “Liam” Setiawan, after a prolonged absence from the competitive arena. Interestingly, these seasoned MLBB veterans are seemingly gearing up to grace the upcoming Honor of Kings professional tournament, which has been touted as one of the most-anticipated events in Southeast Asia.
Recent photos circulating on RRQ’s social media channels suggest that Tuturu and Liam have already completed a photo shoot session, presumably in preparation for promotional content typically done before a competition. Despite their established reputations in the MLBB scene, it seems unlikely that they will immediately rejoin the lineup, given that RRQ finalized its squad changes just a few weeks ago.
This teaser eventually sparked speculation that the duo will instead compete in the HoK tournament set to take place in Indonesia. This speculation gained traction following a brief video message from RRQ’s CEO, Andrian Pauline, confirming that RRQ’s HoK is a done deal.
While details remain scarce at present, the potential transition of Liam and Tuturu to the Honor of Kings esports scene comes as no big surprise, especially given the recent enthusiasm showed by other MLBB professionals such as Muhammad “Lemon” Ikhsan, Bjorn “Zeys” Ong, and Johnmar “OHMYV33NUS” Villaluna, who already tried the game.
Their formidable skills and wealth of experience are expected to be invaluable assets for RRQ’s Honor of Kings team, which is likely to feature a blend of seasoned veterans and emerging talents. For those who didn’t know, Tuturu and Liam were known as key players for RRQ Hoshi from 2018 to 2020, navigating through intense competition both domestically and internationally.
By the mid-2020, significant changes unfolded in their MLBB careers. Tuturu, following a hand injury, decided to retire from the competitive MLBB scene. Meanwhile, Liam transitioned to RRQ’s MDL team and eventually ended as an unused substitution from January to June 2022. Liam then took a hiatus from esports and briefly joined Evos Holy in a government-sponsored tournaments held in Indonesia from October to December 2023.
