Bigetron Alpha, ablaze with red-hot form, continues to assert its dominance atop the MPL Indonesia Season 13 leaderboard, securing a playoff berth after a spectacular showing against the underdogs Geek Fam and Alter Ego in the climax of week 6 action.
After a shock defeat to Evos Glory last week, Bigetron was expected to face a tricky challenge from either Geek or Alter Ego, both of which have been struggling to avoid elimination. However, neither team managed to make a dent in the Red Robot’s armor.
On Friday (4/26), Bigetron delivered a crushing blow to Geek Fam, sweeping them aside with a decisive 2-0 victory in just over 21 minutes. Despite an initial back-and-forth in the early phase of Game 1, Bigetron quickly gained the upper hand by mid game, sealing the deal in a mere 11 minutes. The onslaught continued in Game 2, with the team sealing an astonishing 11-0 victory in just over 10 minutes, leaving spectators stunned.
Bigetron continued its impressive form with another flawless victory against the rival, Alter Ego, on Sunday (4/28). Avenging its first leg defeat, Bigetron owed much of this big victory to the standout performance of Filipino player Eman “Emann” Sangco, who shone in both games.
In the chasing pack, Onic Esports and Aura Fire remain hot on Bigetron’s heels, separated only by a thin margin. Onic’s resurgence saw them reclaiming the second spot after dispatching Alter Ego and Dewa United in successive bouts, whereas Aura Fire stumbled against a determined RRQ Hoshi, fortified by the return of Schevenko “Skylar” Tendean.
Although Bigetron has secured the ticket to the next phase, the road ahead demands unwavering consistency over the remaining three weeks to retain its pole position and commence the playoffs from the upper bracket. This week’s unforeseen upheavals in the standings are sure to inject a newfound sense of urgency among the participants as the regular season hurtles towards its conclusion.
