In a stunning twist, Bigetron Alpha has exited the MLBB Premier League Indonesia Season 13 following back-to-back heavy losses against Evos Glory and Geek Fam in the playoffs.
Having dominated the regular season, Bigetron Alpha was widely tipped to reach the MPL ID grand finale and represent Indonesia at the Esports World Cup 2024 in Saudi Arabia this summer. Yet, their usual commanding performances were absent against two teams that had struggled in recent months.
Yesterday, the Red Robot army was dismantled by the underdogs Evos, who clinched the series 3-1. Evos effectively neutralized Bigetron’s Filipino ace, Eman “Emann” Sangco, stifling every attack. While Evos played with precision and discipline, Bigetron appeared uncomfortable and took risks that put them in difficult situations in the first two games.
Bigetron showed some fight in game 3 through Kenneth “Super Kenn” Marcelo, who frequently invaded Evos’ territory. But just when they secured a point and seemed ready to balance the series, Evos decided to end it all with a strong draft pick that sealed their fate in just 13 minutes.
This defeat dropped Bigetron to the lower bracket semi-final against Geek Fam. However, instead of bouncing back with improved tactics, they suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat this time.
Veteran player Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy led Geek Fam to superiority throughout the series. Having seen what Evos did back there, they successfully contained Emann, neutralizing their biggest threat and exploiting every opportunity.
Desperate not to let their chance slip away, Bigetron Alpha adopted another aggressive draft, aiming to protect Emann at all costs. While this strategy held Geek Fam at bay for a time, Baloyskie found an opening that sealed Bigetron’s fate in the decisive game.
This result definitely served as a huge blow for Bigetron Alpha, who had dominated both opponents in the regular season. The team’s management now faces the challenging task of revitalizing the players’ spirits and tactics ahead of their next major competition.
